Detox and Peace Juices

I know the title “peace juices” sounds super hippyish – but hey, we all have a hippy side! 

We can throw around buzz words like, “detox” “cleanse” “weightloss” but here’s what really matters: JUICING will make you feel AmAzING!!! You could start by adding one fresh juice to your diet per day. You could even try replacing a meal with one (try a more filling one such as my Sweet Greens Mix or Almond Chai Smoothie below)

I think “peace juices” because these juices will settle your stomach. They will also give you peace of mind as you know that you are getting a great boost in raw nutrients. It might be just what you need to get back on track after a vacation, weekend of partying, or to enhance your health for yoga, climbing or whatever moves you.

Peace-Juice

“Rise and Shine” Detox Juice

I make a big portion of this, put it in a pitcher and drink it upon waking all week long. It will make you feel energized and amazing and the cayenne and vitamin c can also help mend a cold. 

1 large Grapefruit

3 Oranges

3 lemons

Cayenne

Peel all citrus fruits and pass them through the juicer. Pour into pitcher and add equal parts distilled water.

Makes 5-6 cups.

Serve over ice and sprinkle with cayenne. Enjoy the energy!

The Root of All Goodness

1 Large Beet

2 Apples

3-4 Carrots

3 Radishes

Scrub the veggies REALLY well. Pass everything through the juicer. Serve immediately over ice. 

Tastes SWEET and the color is so incredible, you’re going to have to make it to believe it!

Makes 2 cups!

Kristi Nicole’s Sweet Green Mix

Green-Juice-2

2 Apples

7-8 Carrots

2 TBS fresh ginger

1 cup of spinach

1/2 Banana

2 celery stalks

Pass apples, carrots, celery and ginger through the juicer. Use an immersion blender to blend spinach and banana right in the glass. (Or transfer to a blender of choice to blend the spinach and banana) Serve immediately. 

Perfectly Balanced — Sweet, Spicy, Fresh. This will also fill you up and satisfy you.

Makes 2 large cups

Cucumber Melon Cooler

I love this one on hot summer days. It’s a great way to use up extra watermelon!

8 cups of watermelon (you can try a different melon but I’ve only tried watermelon.)

1 cucumber

Pass Melon and Cucumber through a juicer. Serve over Ice with Mint if desired.

Almond Chai Cream Smoothie

If you do not like Chai – try Earl Grey!

This one does not require a juicer and makes a fantastic meal replacement or just any time you are craving something sweet! You DO want a high power blender for this though such as vitamix, ninja etc…

almond smoothie

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1/2 cup plain greek yogurt (this is optional)

5 dates, pitted

5 raw almonds

1 cup brewed tea – room temp

Ice

1 tsp vanilla or almond extract

In a small bowl or cup, cover the dates with water and microwave for 1 min. This softens up the dates. (Don’t skip this trick!)

Drain water from the dates and combine everything together. Blend until smooth!
